黃小秋幼年便在爺爺黃桂秋身边学唱黄派京劇, 长期耳濡目染, 練成一付好嗓子. 她在上小學時就随父練藝, 出入劇团, 訓練班等, 也常在学校参加朗誦和戲劇演出, 她小学還未結束就被選入軍隊文工团, 主演京劇样板戲, 芭蕾舞和歌劇等. 黃小秋于1974年加入上海歌劇院, 悉心研習意大利美声唱法六年, 期間被歌劇院選為重点培養對象. 然而她仍然選擇了傳統京劇藝術作為她的終身職业. 1984年黃小秋被評為上海劇壇明日之星, 獲當年青年演員最高獎 ”新秀獎”. 她主演的 ”女起解”, “春秋配”, “蝴蝶媒”, 和“別宮祭江”等黃派名劇屢獲”創作演出獎”和 ”表演一等獎”. 她還主演了中国第一部京劇电视連續劇 中的女主角徐小玉. 1987年黃小秋移民來美国后, 與夫婿朱楚善同創 “華盛頓楚山藝術学院”, 教授傳统的京劇, 培養出百余名青少年演員. 她策划領導学院走進主流演藝圈. 她设計演出的大小作品使美国觀眾耳目一新. 每年楚山藝術学院為学生做的專場演出, 使數万青少年得以了解中國的傳统京劇藝術. 她两次獲得马里蘭州杰出藝人獎, 多次荣獲國家基金會的獎金. 今年她又被推選為美国藝術界最高獎 “国家珍宝獎”的侯選人.2000年黃小秋遠赴台灣国立国光劇团工作. 她担任大型神話京劇 “牛郎織女天狼星” 的藝術指導; 她曾四次在甘迺迪藝術中心演出 “貴妃醉酒”, “廉錦楓”等劇, 並且策划組織演出大型京劇 “霸王別姬”, “國劇風采”, “大鬧天宮” 等作品, 以及用傳統京劇與現代舞相結合的代表作品 “紅罐子和籃白碗” 現代舞劇，都大獲成功. 黃小秋在2003年12月25日蒙主感召, 受洗得救, 成為一名基督徒. 她在屬靈的道路上得蒙主的看顧與恩典, 不斷破除舊我, 追求信心的培養, 特別在與病痛爭戰中表現突出, 令人感動. 今天黃小秋女士离開我們平安而去. 終于得以與主同在. 小秋我們祝福你, 我們永遠愛你. Judy Huang , the Artistic Director of WCSCOI, is an award-winning actress trained in both Chinese and Western opera. A graduate of the Shanghai Opera Theater, Ms. Huang was first trained at the age of five by her grandfather, the famous Huang Gui Qiou, who developed the Huang style of Qingyi performance. A lead actress of the Beijing Opera House of Shanghai from 1979 to 1987, Ms. Huang performed lead roles in 30 Chinese operas , and has performed on stage over 1,000 times. Among her acting credits is the lead female roles in the Chinese television series, .Emperor Qianlong Visits Jiangnan,. performances of the .Inebriation of Prized Consort Yang,. and "Fighting with the Oyster" at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 1992 and 1994. In 2002, she also served as artistic advisor to the actresses of the Taiwanese production of "The Celestial Romance of the Cowherder and the Weaving Girl." She has taught scores of students in the United States, and has produced five full-length operas. Judy HUANG handled many aspects of the Institute's operations, from the development of educational programming and the planning of artistic productions, to working closely with volunteers and overseeing its day-to-day administration. In recognition of her dedication to teaching and performing Chinese opera and folk art in the United States, she received the Maryland State Award for Excellence in the Arts in 1994 and 1996. In late 2005, Judy Huang passed away after a heroic battle with illness. She was taken from this world too early and is very much missed by her students and the artistic community. Her legacy lives on. |
